I am Paul Silcock – a Rural Surveyor, Agricultural Valuer and Chartered Environmentalist. I have worked in land management and consultancy for over 23 years – for a variety of organisations including English Nature, Butler Sherborn, GFA-RACE and Cumulus Consultants.
I am committed to the long term stewardship of land and natural resources and taking a positive approach to achieve economic, environmental and social ‘win-wins’.
My experience includes the direct management of estates, farms and conservation landholdings and a wide range of consultancy work. This consultancy includes land acquisition, landlord and tenant, compensation, valuation, agri-environment, land management and enterprise development. I also undertake policy, strategy and programme-related work specialising in agriculture, environment and rural development. I have worked for clients in the private, public and voluntary sectors both in the UK and elsewhere in Europe.
I have a strong track record in project management, team working, facilitation and negotiation. I enjoy bringing together different parties and objectives to develop a mutually beneficial way forward.
I am keen on all outdoor sports including hill walking, climbing and sailing, and love mountains, wild places and travelling. I am actively involved in my local area as a school governor and through the church; I have a strong Christian faith and this underpins everything. I am married and have two daughters (both at secondary school), plus the usual assortment of animals!
